Event Details

Early Bib Pickup

Participants will be able to pick up their bib and swag packet on Friday, August 16th from 4 pm – 6 pm at Runner’s Alley in Manchester.

Race Day Logistics

Gear Drop, Parking & Shuttles

The Deerfield Dragon Triathlon is unique in that there are two separate and distinct transition areas located approximately 15 minutes drive apart. This is IMPORTANT to factor into your race day timeline.

On Saturday, August 17th participants will drive to the Swim Start (Transition 1) at Veasey Park, (279 North Rd, Deerfield) drop their bike and other swim gear, and then travel to the Race Finish (Transition 2 & Finish) at the Deerfield Community Church (15 Church St, Deerfield) to park their vehicle. From here, a shuttle bus will bring you back to Transition 1 for the 8:00 am start of the race. Race day bib and packet pickup will happen at Veasey Park.

Shuttle Buses will make two trips, departing from Race Finish at 6:45 am and 7:30 am.

Because of this added travel we strongly encourage you plan to be at Transition 1 to rack your wheels not later than 7:00 am. For those who prefer not to cut it close, Transition 1 will open at 6:00 am. Bathrooms are available at both Transition 1 and the Finish.

Gear Transfer

In your swag bag will be a blue bag with your bib number. When you exit the water, you will drop your gear in (or around) this bag and we will bring it all to the finish line for you to collect after the conclusion of your race.

Course Details

The race will begin in two waves, male (blue cap) and female/relay team (yellow cap) beginning at 8:00 am and 8:03 am.

Because of the water temperature and the shorter swim distance (0.15 miles) we suggest skipping the wet suit, however they are fine to wear if that is your preference.

Deerfield is an idyllic country setting with quaint rustic roads. There are portions (note Haynes Rd) where reduced speeds on your bike is advisable. Once you have navigated this stretch you will be rewarded with brand new pavement on Ridge Rd! There will be a sweeper vehicle driving along the course to assist with anyone who is unable to complete the course. Remember, helmets are mandatory.

The run course includes approximately 0.5 miles of trail running. Enjoy the change of scenery.

The Deerfield Old Home Day 5K, a family-friendly, free 5K, will begin at 9:00 am and run the same course as the Triathlon. Please be mindful and remember runners to the LEFT, bikers on the RIGHT.

Post Race Refreshments

Also in your swag bag will be a voucher for a post-race breakfast sandwich from the Lazy Lion food truck. The food truck will be set up at the Deerfield Town Hall at the finish line.

Prizes will be awarded to the Top Overall Finisher, Top Relay Team, Runner Up Male (Adult and Youth) and Runner Up Female (Adult and Youth).

Please note – there will be no day-of registration available for this event.
